Greetings from Nkoni Dallas Fort Worth. We are a collective of anglophone sisters and wives from the ‘Bamileke’ tribe in the Western Province of Cameroon. Our association is linked with Nkoni Cameroon, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women and children.
The first gathering of the Nkoni USA Dallas Fort Worth branch occurred on November 13, 2020, graced by the presence of its Four Founding Members: Florence Nana, Florence Fofang, Maureen Ngamelue Simo, and the late Nicoline Simo (may her soul rest in peace).
As of now, our membership roster stands at 23 individuals. Our interactions are guided by the fundamental principle of mutual support, exemplifying the spirit of being each other’s guardian and confidant. Our membership is exclusively composed of anglophone Bamileke daughters and spouses, fostering a sense of cultural continuity and unity.
OPERATIONAL STRUCTURE AND ACTIVITIES
Regularly planned, our monthly gatherings occur on the last Sunday of every month. These meetings are organized in both physical and virtual formats, utilizing the Zoom platform. The designated timeframe for these engagements extends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. During these sessions, our members make obligatory contributions towards Savings and Njangi, fortifying the base of our collective financial initiatives.
FUTURE ENDEAVORS: ORGANIZATION LAUNCH & BUSINESS GROWTH
The forthcoming course of our branch outlines a crucial milestone: the initiation of the organization in October 2024. Through this landmark, we aspire to heighten our influence and outreach, thus effecting a deeper impact on our community. A fundamental aspect of our vision involves promoting individual development and financial independence through entrepreneurial ventures. Through the encouragement and backing of diverse business endeavors, we strive to enable the empowerment and advancement of our members, ultimately benefiting the prosperity of our collective and the communities we are involved with. This strategic endeavor harmonizes with our dedication to nurturing resilience, self-sufficiency, and enduring progress.
